Braids, Wide Brim Hats and Kimonos // My Spring & Summer 2015 Style Inspirations

Winter's been, well, winter and though I have enjoyed the time snuggling under warm blankets with cups of hot chocolate and movie nights in, I'm experiencing a bit of cabin fever. It's time for winter and I to part ways for a few months. I'm so ready for spring and summer! I'm ready to be outdoors riding bikes, frequenting the beach, sipping on bottomless mimosas at rooftop brunches and the ladies' night I'm planning with my girlfriends uptown at La Marina. I'm inspired by so many things that I want to make and add to my personal style collection like a wide brim hat. Janelle Monae has been slaying in this accessory lately.

I'm also excited to make a kimono to rock with tanks and pair with shorts, skinny jeans or leggins for an artsy chic and casual look. Kimonos are just so fly to me, I can't believe I've never owned one or thought to make one previously! Oh well, I will have one this year.

I want box braids like these that Monica is rocking.

I plan to rock long cornrows this summer like Alicia Keys used to rock too.

Hair wise, all this spring and summer I'm planning to rock box braids, kinky twists or long cornrows. I want to keep my hair this way until fall.
