If you've followed this blog for a while now, then you know that I'm an avid practitioner of the Law of Attraction. We live in a world of infinite abundance so there is always something that you want whether shallow or deep. Last month I decided I really want MBL (mid back length) hair when stretched by this December and have started doing my part to attract it. The LOA says "ask, believe, receive". I've asked for it so I'm in the believing step. One part of the believing step is visualization. If you follow me on Pinterest, I have a picture of a natural with MBL hair on my 2013 vision board. I try to look at my vision board at least once every day. I also daydream about it, like where will I go and what will I be wearing, what flat iron I'll using to straighten it (I have my eye on the Maxi Glide), etc. It sounds silly but imagining that you already have it and are enjoying it, helps attract your desires to you faster.
Another part of the believing step is doing your part. I did a couple different posts on caring for natural hair that is made up of fine strands and has medium to low density. Being that I have natural hair with fine strands (and medium density), I'm doing things that benefit my hair and encourage length retention to attract this length I wish for. Since this winter, I've been having fun with protective styles like loose twists, Marley twists and last week I put in crochet braids (pics coming soon). These styles give my hair a rest from daily mechanical wear and tear and prevent my ends from knotting, tangling and breaking off. I can count on one hand how many times my hair has been out this year so far. In my experiences, fine strands natural hair responds very well to protective styling if done properly, I retain pretty much all of my length when doing so. If you follow me on Instagram then you saw most recently how long my hair is now when I blow it out. I was blown away, no pun intended. :) I'm bad at taking (length) pictures so I will take a starting picture once I take out these crochet braids next month.
I plan to continue rocking protective styles exclusively, with maybe some small breaks in between, until December when I will straighten my hair for the first time since I've been natural. This is exciting for me because in my whole life, I have never seen my hair this long before and I'm about to, for the first time, in 6 months from now. It's been an amazing journey filled with twists and turns, triumphs and lessons learned. You can have anything you want in your life. You just have to believe God is able, do your part and watch him deliver.
Stay naturally fly

Good luck with your MBL journey! I just cut my hair because I like it shoulder length and when it's not ... I daydream about that a lot, too! LOL ;)
