It's that time of the year again, Black History Month. All month I will be writing about our contributions to the advancement of our community and society. I will also be sharing any good books, videos, documentaries, exhibits, etc that will support this theme of knowing, preserving, celebrating and giving gratitude for our history. I will acknowledge and give thanks to those before us but I want to focus a lot of my efforts this month on those of us that are doing great things right now. I will not be celebrating celebrities, I want to highlight everyday people in our community on the front line, in the mix, making things happen. No one or no race is perfect, but we have come a long way and I'll say it loud, "I'm Black and I'm proud!"
