It's about time. Ya girl went 4 weeks (and 1 day) without washing her hair. Bananas right? I didn't wash my hair in so long because I've been a combination of busy and lazy. A little after the 3 week mark, it started itching a lot and building up so I knew I couldn't let another weekend go by without washing it.
I misted my hair with my homemade hair mist and then added coconut oil in 6 (twisted) sections. I let it sit for no more than 10 mins and then washed my scalp and hair (with the twists still in) with my hair mud wash recipe. Man, do I dig my hair mud wash recipe. It always leaves my hair feeling so soft and clean!
I airdried in 12 braids with Kinky Curly Knot Today, my shealoe mix and Jane Carter Solution Wrap & Roll. The results are to the right. I did more braids than I normally do. This set came out ok but going forward I'm going to just do about 8 braids like usual. I also think that I don't really care for the Wrap & Roll. It's just kinda "eh" so I'll prob give it to a friend or family member who'll like it better.
Going forward, I don't think I will go that long between washes. This incident was really unplanned but I'm a roll with the punches kinda girl and have an adaptable outlook when it comes to my hair care. This incident did make me aware that it's not necessary for ME to wash my hair every week though. My hair suffered no ill effects and throughout the 4 weeks, I moisturized my hair whenever it felt dry and detangled when it was needed. But yea, my usual, every 1-2 weeks works just fine for me; I'll be sticking with that.
