I need something in place of my Aubrey Organics B5 Design Gel. I mean, it works great but it STINKS! It has a very strong, woodsy smell that I thought I could get used to but it's been a few months now and I'm still not used to it. It half-way nauseats me. I'm going to sell it, swap it, whatever. It's getting ghost from my home. So I need a gel that performs just as well minus that nauseating smell.
I was on Jenteel's fotki drooling over her gorgeous hair when I came across her products albums. In there was a picture of this all natural and organic styling gel called African Formula Styling Gel. If you know me by now, anything that I want to learn more about, I "Google it". So that's exactly what I did and learned where I can buy it.
You can get it at Penn Herb. It's not cheap, $9.95 for a 4 oz jar (this is the only size I've seen it come in), but Jenteel gave it a good review. If it works and doesn't smell like the B5 Design Gel, I'll pay! I'm spending most of this year in braids anyway, so I won't use it up fast.
I love that all the ingredients are natural; no ingredients created in a lab. Check em out:
INGREDIENTS: Purified Water; Marshmallow Root Gel; Gacanth and Gum Arabic Blend; Botanical extracts of Peach Leaves, Birch, Coltsfoot, Horsetail, Rosehip Seed, Calendula, and Citrus Seed; Plant proteins; Natural oils of Aloe Vera, Calendula, Castor, Coconut, and Jojoba; Hydrokeratin; Panthenol; Biotin; Inositol; Natural vitamins A, E, and D; Vegetable aroma. NO animal ingredients. NO animal testing.
It's been added to the wish list. I just need this and the Afro Detangler and that should finally complete my holy grail product line up.
PS (I got me some (Jamila) henna! Got it from a local Indian grocer in the City (Kalustyan's on 28th n Lexington). I will do a review on it when I take my braids down next month and do a henna treatment. I got the Afro Veda PUR Whipped Gelly too. A fellow LHCFer, luv LHCF!, sold it to me for a price I couldn't refuse! So there will be a review on that soon too. I'm hoping it's a more affordable Kinky-Curly Curling Custard. We'll see!)
